Expand your vocabulary (safe for work)

One of my guiding principles to life is "learn something new every day".
Imagine my surprise when I learned the following new words at an all-hands meeting this afternoon:
  • planful (plan-full) adj 1) deliberate, intentional; "We are embarking on this planning process to be more planful  for this next release."
  • ideate, ideation (ih-dee-ate, ih-dee-ay-shun) v 1) to brainstorm, come up with ideas; "We ideated all of last week", "We think this plan fosters ideation "
  • eyechart (i-chart) adj 1) pertaining to powerpoint slides that are information-dense; 2) an admission that the font used in on the slide is so small that the audience can not read the text on the slide; "This is an eyechart, so let me tell you what it says".

Thank goodness management is here to teach me new words at all-hands meetings. Otherwise, I might be so bold as to inquire, what the hell they’ve been doing these last few years.
